The Data Side of Nahel
Human-Centred Data Science & Information systems Desgin Candidate
Hi! This portfolio highlights my work as a Master of Information student at the University of Toronto, with a focus on HCDS and ISD. It’s a space where I share what I’ve been working on, from my background and resume to coursework and projects that reflect my experience in data, systems, and real-world problem-solving
ABOUT ME
I’m a 23-year-old Master of Information student at the University of Toronto, working toward a dual concentration in Information Systems and Design (ISD) and Human-Centred Data Science (HCDS), with an expected graduation in 2027. I completed my undergraduate degree at UofT in Political Science and Criminology in 2025. Long term, I plan to attend law school and pursue a career as a cybersecurity lawyer, combining my interests in technology, data, and the legal system.

Where I Grew Up
I was born in Bangladesh, but I’ve had a pretty international upbringing. I’ve lived in Timor-Leste, Laos, Bali, and Jakarta, where I graduated from the Jakarta Intercultural School with an IB diploma in 2021. Growing up across different countries and cultures shaped how I see the world and gave me a strong interest in global systems, policy, and how technology impacts different communities
Outside of School
Outside of academics, I’m big on staying active. I play pickleball, soccer, and recently got into tennis, both casually with friends and competitively. In the summer, I’m usually hiking, biking, or going on runs. I’m also really into music, non-fiction books, and documentaries. Lately, I’ve been getting more into movies, especially sci-fi
